  • CA. Manoharan is a post graduate in commerce; Law graduate from Madras University and a Fellow Chartered Accountant in Practice. CA. Manoharan has widely travelled to deliver lectures in India and Abroad. He has authored books for professionals and students on Indian tax law. He was a council member for 6 years and served in 2006-07 as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
  • He was in the Board of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) and in the Committees constituted by RBI, SEBI, C&AG and CBDT during 2006-07. He was the Chairman of the Committee on Education and Centre for Excellence of South Asian Federation of Accountants (2004-05). He was a member for two years (2006 & 2007) of the International Accounting Education Standards Board of IFAC formulating global education standards for accounting professionals. He was the Chairman of the National Committee on Accounting Standards constituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during 2009-11. CA. Manoharan was nominated by the Government of India as part of the 6 Member Board for revival of Satyam Company.
  • CA. Manoharan is a Member of the Advisory Board on Banks,Commercial and Financial Frauds (ABBCFF) constituted by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). He is a Member of the Appellate Authority, constituted by the Government with reference to the disciplinary mechanism governing the accountancy profession in India. He is a Governing Body Member of the Public Health Foundation of India. He is a Director in a few companies. He is a visiting faculty at the National Academy on Direct taxes, Nagpur.
  • CA. Manoharan is the recipient of various awards and honours. He has been conferred the “Life time achievement” award in 2005 and “For the Sake of Honour” award in 2007 by the Rotary International. He visited Australia, on invitation by the University of Southern Queensland, as “Dean’s Distinguished Visitor” to facilitate research on Business Sustainability and Corporate Governance during September 2009. He received the “Business Leadership Award” from the Hon’ble Finance Minister under the aegis of NDTV Profit in October, 2009 and in the Business category, here the CNN IBN “Indian of the Year 2009” award from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in December, 2009 as part of the Satyam Revival Team. CA. T.N. Manoharan is the recipient of the civilian honour “Padma Shri” award from the President of India on 7th April, 2010.
